Sept. 26-30, 2022
Packets will be shipped to registered participants that elected to have their packets shipped. The last day to register to have your packet shipped is Sept. 9. If you register after this date, you must pick up your packet in-person.
Oct. 6-8, 2022
Attend your packet pick-up time slot at the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce Admin Building, located at 111 W. Marine Dr. Astoria, OR 97103.

Last day to register for the Great Columbia Crossing, unless already sold out.
Sunday, October 9 - RACE DAY
NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION
We keep a very tight schedule on race day to ensure our event starts and finishes on time, per our agreement with the Oregon Department of Transportation and other permitting organizations. We ask that you familiarize yourself with the following schedule and ARRIVE ON TIME. You risk missing the race if you arrive too late on race day.
Schedule is subject to change leading up to the event day
6 to 7 a.m. - Packet Pick-Up (You will be charged $15 if you pick-up your packet on race day)
Last minute packets/bibs are available near the shuttle bus loading at the Port of Astoria at the foot of Basin Street (Oregon). If you did not sign-up for this packet pick-up time slot at registration, please do not expect to pick-up your packet at this time. Please follow event parking signs. No drop off at Basin Street. Packets/bibs are NOT available at the Port of Chinook (Washington). Information regarding packet pick-up will be sent to registered participants. We strongly encourage participants to utilize one of these other options, instead of waiting until race day to pick-up their packet.
6:30 to 7:30 a.m. - Shuttle from Port of Astoria, Oregon
Port of Astoria shuttle buses load from the parking lot off of Basin Street. All participants using the shuttle from the Port of Astoria (Oregon) MUST be in line for the shuttle by 7:00 a.m. Plan to arrive early! Participants who arrive after 7:00 a.m. are NOT guaranteed a spot on the shuttle bus and are NOT guaranteed to make the start of the race. There is NO drop off of race participants at the starting line. Everyone must use the shuttle.
7 a.m. & 7:30 a.m. - Stroller Shuttle from Port of Astoria, Oregon
Port of Astoria stroller shuttle buses leave at two specific times. Participants traveling with small children and strollers can ride together on the shuttle. Look for the "stroller shuttle" banner near the regular shuttle bus loading in the parking lot off of Basin Street. All strollers must be collapsible. There is NO drop off of race participants at the starting line. Everyone must use the shuttle.
7:10 a.m. & 7:40 a.m. - Handicap Accessible Shuttle from Port of Astoria, Oregon
Port of Astoria handicap accessible buses leave at two specific times. This allows us to accommodate participants who need extra help due to a disability, wheelchair, etc. There is NO drop off of race participants at the starting line. Everyone must use the shuttle.
7:00 to 8:00 a.m. - Shuttle from Port of Chinook, Washington
Port of Chinook shuttle buses load from the parking lot off of Water Street. All participants using the shuttle from the Port of Chinook MUST be in line for the shuttle by 7:30 a.m. Plan to arrive early! Participants who arrive after 7:30 a.m. are NOT guaranteed a spot on the shuttle bus and are NOT guaranteed to make the start of the race. Anyone bringing a stroller is asked to use the stroller shuttle from the Port of Astoria. Packets/bibs are not available at the Port of Chinook on race morning. There is NO drop off of race participants at the starting line. Everyone must use the shuttle.
8:10 a.m. - Gear Check Closes (Gear Check Truck Leaves Starting Line @ 8:15 a.m.)
When you arrive at the starting line, you can find the “Gear Check” truck located at the far end (east) of the Dismal Nitch Rest Area, past the portable restrooms. Look for the "Gear Check" sign! You can put your sweatshirts, jackets and any other loose items you don't want to carry during the race in a plastic sack labeled with your unique bib number. We will shuttle the sacks across the river, and they will be available for pick-up next to the water tables near the finish line.
8:30 to 11 a.m. - Astoria-Megler Bridge Closed
The Astoria-Megler Bridge will be closed to ALL vehicle traffic during this 2.5-hour window. Both lanes of the bridge will be used by participants to walk/run across the bridge. The bridge will reopen promptly at 11 a.m.
8:45 a.m. - RACE START!
Competitive runners start first, then all other participants. If you are walking, do not line-up at the front of the pack - let the runners start first.
10:45 a.m. - Sweeper Bus Picks Up
In order to reopen the bridge on time at 11 a.m., the Sweeper Bus will pick up any participants who are still on the bridge at 10:45 a.m. Anyone picked-up by the Sweeper Bus will be dropped off at the foot of the bridge to continue the race course to the finish line.
10:45 a.m. - Award Ceremony
Anyone who won an award in the event will be presented with their award during this brief ceremony.
11 a.m. & 11:30 a.m. - Shuttle back to Port of Chinook, Washington
A return shuttle to the Port of Chinook will load from the parking lot off of Basin Street and leave at these two specific times to transport participants back to their vehicles.
11:30 a.m. - End of Event
The finish line and timing area will be dismantled at this time. All participants MUST finish the event prior to this time.
