2026 Event Shirt Design
We’re excited to partner with artist Virginia Smith for the 2026 Great Columbia Crossing shirt artwork!
The long sleeve shirt is available in your choice of 100% cotton or a polyester/cotton performance blend. Click for shirt details and size charts.
Virginia Smith is an artist/animator in Fort Worth, Texas and has been a fan of Astoria since she first saw the movie Short Circuit in 1986. She has expressed this love through her Short Circuit illustrations and many visits to Astoria over the years, starting in 1989! She finally had an opportunity to complete the Great Columbia Crossing in 2023 and is pleased to have her art be part of the event, as well as the Short Circuit 40th anniversary celebration, this year. This year’s design includes a nod to the 40th anniversary of Short Circuit, the Astoria-filmed classic. (Learn more about her work here.)
Please note: This is a pre-production mock-up. Garment colors, artwork placement, and text layout may change slightly.
Volunteer with the Event
From October 8 to 11, we have more than 100 volunteer shifts that we need to fill to ensure the Great Columbia Crossing 10K runs smoothly. Volunteer roles include packet pickup in the days leading up to the event and on Sunday shuttle helpers, finish line crew, race route monitors and more!

Make a weekend of it
Whether a local resident or traveling from outside of the area, we encourage you to make plans to visit our local shops, galleries, restaurants and more.
Spend the CLAM BUCKS
that you get with your event registration at participating merchants during the week of the event.
What are Clam Bucks?
Clam Bucks are wooden tokens worth $1 each. They can be spent just like cash. Each participant receives 5 Clam Bucks with their race bib.
We provide an additional 5 Clam Bucks to participants who have their packet mailed or choose to pick-up their packets on Thursday or Friday to help us reduce crowding at packet pick-up.
When can Clam Bucks be spent?
Clam Bucks are valid for a full week, starting on the first day of race packet pick-up, Thursday. The final day Clam Bucks can be spent is Wednesday after the race.
Where can Clam Bucks be spent?
Clam Bucks can be spent ONLY at participating Chamber member businesses. Businesses will be given a sign that shows that they accept clam bucks, too. Limit: 5 Clam Bucks per person, per business unless business allows otherwise. List of participating businesses will be posted nearer to the event.

This race is a fundraiser!
The Great Columbia Crossing 10K is a fundraiser for the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce, allowing us to continue hosting this event year after year. Additionally, the chamber gives back to the community by employing/hiring/utilizing chamber members and local businesses and by giving donations to area nonprofits in exchange for services provided during the event.
This really is a community-focused event!
