Youngs River Falls
Youngs River Falls were discovered by a Lewis & Clark hunting party about six miles from Fort Clatsop and documented in the journals of Patrick Gass for March 1, 1806 : “our hunters discovered falls, which had about 60 feet of a perpendicular pitch”. The western fork of Youngs River falls about 65 feet, and is surrounded by a beach, undeveloped picnic area and a swimming hole used by the locals in the summer. The falls can be viewed from the parking area, or reached by a brief hike down the trail.
