Goonies Day 2013

NSD Goonies

Celebrate beloved film, The Goonies, in the town it was filmed – Astoria, Oregon! As a part of the Goonies 25th Anniversary Celebration in 2010, Mayor Willis Van Dusen declared June 7 to be officially recognized as Goonies Day in Astoria, Oregon. This date is special to Astorians because it is the anniversary of the day the film was released into theaters in 1985. The Astoria-Warrenton Chamber encourages fans, both local and abroad, to celebrate the anniversary. We have not invited any cast members to join us this year due to budget restrictions. Activities on Goonies Day will ramp up as the date approaches the weekend, and the 30th anniversary in 2015. This year it is all about fan appreciation in Astoria! Film fans in Astoria will enjoy a number of activities and specials on Goonies Day and throughout the weekend.

Find this event on Facebook!

The Astoria-Warrenton Chamber of Commerce and participating businesses invite you to take on the Rich Stuff Scavenger Hunt during Goonies Day/Weekend.

For those of you that are here in Astoria, join us on a fun, trivia-filled scavenger hunt in a tribute to the film we all love, The Goonies! Pick up the flyer from the Chamber’s Visitor Center or participating businesses and you will find clues to several Goonies-loving businesses and organizations in Astoria. Visit them all and redeem for a prize at the Chamber: The 2013 Goonies Day limited edition button.
