George Award

This year’s George Award will be announced during the Astoria Warrenton Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet on Saturday, January 21, 2012. RSVP required to attend!
There’s an old saying “Let George Do It”. A tongue in cheek saying meaning let someone else do the job. Since “George” doesn’t really exist, the Chamber started its own tradition of calling out the “George’s” in the community who ARE doing the job! It’s a tradition to those who embody service and dedication in the Astoria Warrenton area.

The George Award honors citizens who give extraordinary service to the community. These are local people who give their time and energy to better our community – the doers, the people who make things happen.

If you know someone who consistently jumps in when they see a need, rather than waiting for George to do it, why don’t you nominate them for the George award this year?

Nominations for the 2011 George Award will be accepted until 5 p.m. December 16, 2011.

The nominations are reviewed by a special Chamber “task force” including several prior George Award recipients.
